Over-the-counter antihistamines in Singapore

Antihistamines

Common non-drowsy antihistamines with General Sale List (GSL) instances that can be sold anywhere:

  1. Cetirizine 10mg

For generics or other antihistamines available from a pharmacist only (P), see the list below. Certain variants require a doctor's prescription (POM).

Buying generics or Pharmacy only medication

A complication with getting generics or Pharmacy only medication is whether pharmacies have it in stock. For example, I've purchased Rinityn (loratadine 10mg) from a Guardian pharmacy in the past, but when I asked one this month they said that it's still in their system but they haven't seen it in stock for the past two years. When asked about other generic non-drowsy antihistamines, they had some generic cetirizine but noted that it's "only a few dollars" (probably per 10?) different from Zyrtec-R's on-sale price.

Hospital outpatient and polyclinic pharmacies are a possible alternative to the retail pharmacies.
